FYI: if you’re driving from the Northwestern corner of Montana heading Southeast, and you drive around 75mph, after 12 hours you will still be in Montana.
We’ve spent a good amount of time driving the last couple days, but we saw some awesome things, listened to some great music and podcasts, and thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
We saw a couple different herds of Bison in Montana and took a detour through the Black Hills in South Dakota with a lot of fog, which gave the place a really cool feel. Unfortunately, that also meant we were fogged out of seeing Mount Rushmore, but it ended up being no big deal because we saw it when we stopped at Wall Drug on the way to Sioux Falls. We also had a pretty radical T-Rex encounter, and between the two of us there was an above average amount of Jurassic Park quotes flying around.
Later we took a drive and short hike through Badlands, SD. The place is hard to even describe. The words I’d use are probably desolate and weird. And awesome. It’s just how I remembered from when I was here as a 10 year old.
