Five days on the Maine coast.
We lucked out with a few sunny 80 degree days in a row. Imagine the California coast, but more rugged and with bright green-yellow-orange-red maple trees going right up to the water in the place of palm trees.
We explored harbors and lighthouses, watched the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain (the highest point within 25 miles of the ocean on the East Coast, making us among the first people in the country to see the sun on that day), and dipped our feet into the Atlantic ocean.
This is the most beautiful state either of us has ever seen.
